Custom Build #131
The Philippines have had Cocoleles even before Ukuleles became so popular in the country. It can sometimes be seen with some people doing Christmas caroling from house to house as a makeshift string instrument.
Built with have a coconut shell cut into two, one for the upper bout, and the other for the lower bout, glue in the other parts, painting bright colors, and lastly, installing fishing nylon as strings. These are the type of ukuleles most consider as toys, due to their uncalibrated frets which makes it out of tune on the higher notes.
With this model, we address those issue which considers this type of instrument as a toy and by improving its playability and tone while retaining its native look.
